Visiting Chocolate Country: Incentive in Belgium
Belgium is one of the three Benelux countries (alongside the Netherlands and Luxembourg) and considered to be one of the EU’s most important member states. It is in the Belgian capital, Brussels, that the NATO headquarters is seated and most MEP sessions are held. Belgium is famous for savory cuisine, chocolate and beer; it is a cradle of banking, diamond polishing technique and waffles. We chose Belgium for a destination of an incentive outing organized for our client. During their four-day stay, our guests were able to visit a jewel of medieval architecture, Bruges. and board a cruise on its famous channels. They went on to explore the sights in Brussels: the Atomium, Grand Place and Manneken Pis (a sculpture of a urinating boy). The two remarkable highlights of the trip were undoubtedly a visit to Cantillon, an exceptional brewery which produces beer using the spontaneous fermentation process, and the tasting of local beers, hosted by a Polish expert, Sławomir Szwedziak. Mr Szwedziak is the owner of Krie, a Belgian pub located in Poznań. All in all, Belgium may seem an unlikely destination for corporate outings but it is certainly worth visiting—our clients’ satisfaction with their stay being the best proof of that.
